Welcome.

You have reached the home page of Jeffrey Schwab, a computer systems engineer currently employed by IBM. I work in the Global Engineering Solutions group, where I do project-based work for a variety of different clients. Most of my experience is in the development of embedded software, of CAD tools for the semiconductor industry, and in a small amount of pure research. Before I worked for IBM, I spent four years at Sun Microsystems helping design the UltraSparc V microprocessor. I received my undergraduate degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University, and have done some graduate work in photonics at the same school.

My wife and I moved from Massachusetts to the RTP area of North Carolina in 2005. When I am not at work, you usually can find me on Usenet discussing C++, Java, or any of several other programming languages. I enjoy mathematics and modern physics, particularly as they relate to photonics, semiconductor design, and other applied sciences. Lest you get the idea that I am always glued to a keyboard, I should mention that baseball and football also occupy significant portions of my brain.

Please take a look at my résumé, and feel free to contact me any time.
